Macho Madness

Writer's picture: Bruno@RacingwithbrunoBruno@Racingwithbruno

Many years ago, "dig it", had the pleasure of working with Macho Man Randy Savage, [picture this as Macho Man himself dictating]

"Oooh yeah, dig it!"

San Diego California, San Diego Sports Arena circa 1985. I was entrusted to escort and ''protect'' wrestlers going from the dressing rooms to the ring and back. Tito Gonzalez, Dusty Rhodes, Jake The Snake Roberts, and the Macho Man himself that night.

Macho Man took a beating but won via DQ, and he was leaning on me while being escorted back to the dressing room, holding his left arm, halfway back, some 'nimrod' decided to take a swing in our direction, knocking a barricade right into my bread basket.

Macho sprung into action and tossed the guy three rows up.

"I'm the tower of power, too sweet to be sour"

As we got the dressing room and behind the curtain, he straightens up with a big smile, gives me a sweaty hug and says ''Thanks Kid'', winks and goes into the dressing room.

The Macho Man, ooooh yeah! What would he say today on the eve of the Pegasus and Smarty Jones in this apocalyptic winter of Ice and Fire?

The cream rises to the top.

The card on Pegasus is like snacking on a Slim Jim. Ooooh yeah!

We have a load and a half of works for both the Oaklawn and Gulfstream Park Cards.

The Pegasus is always a fun card, good maidens like in the 2nd race: Disruptor, Pletcher always unveils some monster on this card:

January 18 Disruptor gate work

We had Disruptor in 47, 59.4 and 113.2 with Irad Ortiz, Jr. on board. This is Pletcher in a nutshell, a 5f or longer work, disguised, as a 4f work. "I'm funky like a monkey"

You can get on board or just fade, at your own peril, but dig it you need to have the right info and this one is one of many instances where you have to make your decisions. "Sky's the limit and space is the place!"

The Southwest, 'dig it brother', the card looks strong with a full workout report.

Silver Rose, from the Brad Cox barn, in Race 8 brings intrigue to the late Pick 4 and Pick 5

And how about Speed King at 15-1 or Gaming for Baffert in the Southwest Stakes:

The Saturday Racingwitbruno Simulcast edition, with all the tracks, bells and whistles is like the cream rising to the top

"Oooh yeah, dig it!"
