Speed Trap: Gulfstream Park

Week of 01/06/2019:

Saturday is the busiest morning of the week, across the board from Gulfstream Park, to Gulfstream Park West, Palm Beach Downs and Palm Meadows a large contingent of horses prep over their surface, dirt and turf.

Main Track

Best Trebol ~ Three year old Dominican Republic bred filly, a winner, been training regularly and with some speed for OMG Stables, Oscar M. Gonzalez. Most likely eligible for allowance but what type of allowance, wouldn't be surprised if goes into claimer. Trained well overall, worked in company this morning and was much the best as she was officially given 1:03 as we had her a half from the half in 48.3. She went out on our watch in 102.3 so the official time is close enough.

Network Effect and Standard Deviation, both three-year-olds for Chad Brown have roses aspirations for Klaravich Stables. Worked in company this morning in 24.,2, 49 and finished out in 101.4 on our watch from the half. Even move for both.

Newly turned 3 years of age, two time winning 2yo Flatter colt Lucky Lee, from the red hot barn of Cash Is King LLC and John C. Servis worked strongly in 5f work with 6f out in 1:14.1, in the company of Tricky Escape, a Stakes turf mare. Lets see where John goes with this young stud. He was bought from the All In Sales consignment at Fasig Tipton Maryland after breezing in 10.4. The time didn't look like much but shake a stick at, but the preview video and how he moved you can't help but fall in love with the colt.

My experience at Fasig Tipton, times can be thrown out, on occasions. This may be one of them. His pedigree, especially in the 2nd dam is strong.

Jose Ortiz has worked this son of Flatter here at Palm Meadows in the last two or three weeks as well.

Tomorrow will cover January 7th at Palm Meadows and see whats happening at Palm Beach Downs.
